One-of-a-kind frame hand-torched and polished by artist Nicholas Tindall. Custom built by woodworker Sean Harmer using reclaimed pine with walnut splines and coated with tongue oil. Using an ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban or Yakisuga style technique, a torch flame was used to bring out the wood grain’s natural splendor, add a bit of distressed character and protect the wood for years to come.

Paired with one of the Sedona Sketch series paintings, the result is an extremely unique presentation, with simple yet modern frame design elevating each painting and revealing the carefully painted canvas edges.

The ‘Sedona Sketches’ are imaginative, process-driven pieces created by artist Nicholas Tindall. Capturing a series of stunning Arizona landscapes first through photography, then oil pastel sketches, and ultimately resulting in wildly vibrant, abstract surrealist oil-on-canvas paintings.

Artist Nicholas Tindall and Woodworker Sean Harmer each work and reside within Easton’s Arts & Entertainment district in Maryland.
